About Our Clubhouse

The South Side Boys and Girls Club opened in 1959, and its doors have been open to youth and families ever since. Notable alumni include Jamie Benton, head basketball coach at Johnson & Wales University, Ed Cooley, head basketball coach at Providence College.

At the moment, South Side Clubhouse is open for childcare only. All members enjoy supper at the Clubhouse, as well as access to a vast variety of activities such as our indoor swimming pool.

The Southside Boys & Girls Club Childcare Program values education, the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) framework and embrace inclusivity and diversity. Each day childcare members explore concepts related to STEAM, College and Career exploration and leadership development through homework assistance, project based learning and open discussions facilitated by Youth Development Staff.
