About Our Clubhouse

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence’s Wanskuck Branch opened in 1927. It was built by the owners of the Wanskuck Mill. Since Boys & Girls Clubs were a new concept in 1927, the owners of the mill designed the building to easily convert into a factory if the Club was not a success. Needless to say, the Club has been a success from the day it opened and has continued service to the North End community ever since.

Currently, the Club provides before and after school childcare services to seven neighborhood schools, with an enrollment of about 100 children. Please note that completion of an application does not guarantee immediate enrollment. Stop by or call ahead to ask about childcare schedules and fees! We also offer open-door memberships for neighborhood children ages 6 – 13. All participants enjoy our indoor heated pool, full-size gymnasium, games room, homework help room, and learning center. Specialized activities include swim lessons, art classes, homework help and soccer leagues.
