Vartan Gregorian Programs

After School Programming is Back!

We are excited to offer after school programs for Vartan Gregorian students at our Fox Point Clubhouse.

We are taking childcare applications for children ages Kindergarten through 12 years old.  There will be a LIMITED CAPACITY available at each location and enrollment will be on a FIRST COME basis.

OVERVIEW

The Spring Session begins the week of March 14th. All clubs will end the week of May 16th. In the case of Club cancellations due to inclement weather or Covid restrictions,  a Club make-up  day may be added at the end of the session.

No Clubs will be held on the following dates:

• March 14th— PPSD Distance Learning
• April 6th—PPSD Distance Learning
• April 15th— Good Friday
• April 18th-22nd—- April Vacation
• May 3rd— Eid al-Fitr
• May 11th— PPSD Distance Learning

IN-PERSON PROGRAMS

Clubs start at 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

All Vartan Gregorian programs will be in-person and meet once a week unless specified.  All Clubs are for specific grades, as listed in the program descriptions.

At school dismissal time, students with clubs are called over the intercom to the Vartan Gregorian gym, where BGCP staff take attendance. All classroom teachers receive students’ club schedules before clubs start, so that they are aware of which students have clubs on which days. Students are then brought to their program locations at the Fox Point Clubhouse by their instructors.

Programs end at 5:00 PM and your child must be picked up at this time. There is no Open Door program or Transportation available at this time.  All dismissal and parent pick-up takes place at the Fox Point Club, 90 Ives Street, Providence.  

Parents can designate on their registration forms who is allowed to pick up a child. Anyone picking up your child MUST be on your approved list of adults allowed to pick up your child, and anyone picking up your child MUST be prepared to show identification. All adults must wear a mask inside the building.

Before School: 7:00 – 9:15 a.m.
After School: 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Breakfast & Dinner Served Daily

Required Annual Membership (only applies for new or renewing members)
Fee: $30.00/child

Please let us know if you are eligible for state child care assistance.

Spring 2022 Program Selections

After School Hoops! Introducing AFTER SCHOOL HOOPS, a weekday afternoon basketball program for aspiring young players. The one-hour instructional sessions combine fundamental skills instruction with organized team competition with the goal of providing an enjoyable and educational after school athletic event. Developing players benefit by improving their individual skills such as passing, dribbling, shooting, rebounding and defending while, at the same time, learning how to work within the framework of a team. Boys and girls of all skill levels are encouraged to join.

Art Club: Drawing and Painting! Drawing and Painting students will develop a further understanding of painting and drawing techniques needed to create masterpieces. Children will learn, with step-by-step instruction how to draw, mix colors and apply brushstrokes to create their masterpieces on paper and canvases.

Comics: This program gives kids the opportunity to explore their imagination as well as learning about the steps of making a comic and even going on to complete a comic series of their own!

EYE-TO-EYE: Eye-to-Eye is a weekly, nationwide after school program which is offered to students identified with language and math-based learning disabilities and/or ADHD. Your child will be matched with a Mentor who is a successful Brown University student, that also identifies with a language or math-based learning disability and/or ADHD.
